Musing over his experiences with the dating websites, Lou closed his eyes and tried to recall those ladies with whom he had a rousing time over the net.
Christina, a banker by profession, was interesting and seemed to be rich. He had known her from one of those dating websites for professional ladies. She mentioned that she has a Porsche, two condominiums and a country ranch and she takes overseas vacations during the cold winter months.
Nichole was a delight – saucy and sexy. Her photo reminded him of a feline Barbie Doll. The brief encounter was exciting though he had never dared to take it further than virtual teasing.
Sweet Carolyn, so naive and looking for her first love. She believed in Cinderella and Prince Charming; and her idea of the man in her life is someone tall, fair and handsome. His proposal of marriage must be conducted in grand style. She seemed so child-like that for once, Lou felt guilty for lying to her about himself. So he eventually stopped communicating with her.
There was a couple or two from one of those tricky dating websites who had propositioned him under the guise of friendship. They were soliciting illicit business over the net; he was soon receiving loads of mail inviting him to swap parties, swing parties and so on. Those mails had caused the computer server at his former office to jam up, and the internal support team had traced the source of the problem to his computer – spam and viruses! How embarrassing it was !
There were also a number of unpleasant encounters. A woman had insisted on visiting him at home; she even told him that she was able to track him by his IP address. Another woman has somehow traced him and found out his real identity; she exposed him in that site, which he now avoided. Fortunately he had never used the same user name in all the dating websites, so his other persona's were still relatively safe.
How was he going to be able to access these websites again? Lou pondered. Now he had to go through tons of data and directories of skip hire and waste management companies. Aha, he could bring his work home and tell his wife that he needed to prepare a report for his CEO. Now that would surely impress her, and she would leave him undisturbed. That was really brilliant! I'm a genius, Lou thought and drifted off to sleep.
