The Late Zone

My wife and Ihave been married for 5 years now. They have been the best years of my life and I an thankful every day for having met her and married her. When people meet us we and ask us how we met we like to kid around and tell them that we met on a blind date. Truthfully we met when we both joined a dating service. Even though it worked and we met each other my wife still gets a bit embarrassed to admit that she ever joined a service.

I for one don't mind at all. In fact I think it's a rather romantic story. I had been online for 2 months and had been on several dates when she signed on and we made a connection. We got to know each other for 2 whole months before she finally agreed to meet me in person. I arranged a romantic dinner by candle light and a walk on the beach afterwards.

When I picked her up I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Her profile picture did her no justice at all, she was absolutely stunning. We talked during dinner and as the candle light hit her face and I looked into her eyes I knew this woman would be my wife.

The dinner wad good, the conversation animated and before I knew it we were laughing and feeling like we had known each other for ever. Three months later we were engaged and shortly after we had a big white wedding.

Now every year on our anniversary, we go out on our "blind date"for a romantic dinner. We go to the same restaurant on the beach, sit at the same table surrounded by candle light and get to know each other all over again. This year I have a wonderful surprise for her. I had a locket made for her in platinum that is engraved. I think she will love it, the inside has a picture of us on our first date and it says, "may our blind date last forever".
