The Late Zone

I wanted to try internet dating but with so many of these sites available I found it really hard to choose which one was the right one for me. Every commercial they show on television shows a happy couple, smiling and enjoying life. No one is fighting no one is crying, like in real life relationships. The women speak with a very little girl soft voice about finding their true love. I don't have a soft voice and I don't enjoy smiling 24/7.

I spent several hours researching sites, finding out which were more popular. Looking at picturesof couple after couple, all looking at each other with a soft look in their eyes and their arms stretched out for a hug. It was truly enough to make anyone sick to their stomach. It seemed to fake, too cheesy and I could not make myself sign up to any of them.

Never mind the cost! Thethree sites I looked at had memberships from $50.00-$75.00 per month. In a time when people are losing their jobs left and right I found it very difficult to believe that anyone could afford such high prices, all in the name of love.

Several days later my friend signed me up for a special weekend promotion and I found myself a member of the hug and smile crew. I posted pictures of myself and wrote funny stories that I hoped would enchant someone out there. I wondered how anyone would pick me when there were literally hundreds of women on the site.

Still I carried on and waited for any messages that would come my way. I really doubted any one would take notice and thought I would die of embarrassment when my friend found out no one was interested in me. I was even looking for excuses to leave town and spare myself the shame.

Funny thing happened though... I met a very nice guy. My long weekend stretched to a month and by the second month I met him in person and we are still dating. I no longer pay the service and am happy to report that I found a guy that looks at me with almost the same look they show on tv and when we walk he will always hug me and smile.
