After many failed relationships Claire was looking for something new and exciting. Her friend Sophie had suggested a dating site to he, and with nothing to lose and everything to gain, Claire clicked on the link. On signing up she was prompted to create a profile that would make her stand out from the rest of the people online. After uploading a picture she began to write her profile. She stated that she was looking for someone who liked kissing and caressing and must not be looking for a brief encounter. Claire felt that this was something she could have got from the local pub so wanted to be a bit more specific about who she was looking for and added that it was True love she was looking for. After completing the profile, she began to look through the profiles of possible matches. Most were looking for a breif encounter and many did not have profile pictures which led her to believe they had something to hide. This was definitely not what she was looking for.

She decided to get on with her day and went out shopping with a girlfriend. On returning curiosity got the better of her and she checked her inbox for replies. To her amazement the inbox was full. This looked like it would be a fun evening after all. Claire began to lose hope afterreading yet anothermessage from someone who had obviously not read her profile, One read " Looking for a brief encounter, a night of fun then we can both go home to our partners satisfied". What a cheek! this was definitely not what she was looking for and she promptly blocked this jerk from ever messaging her again.

Just as she was about to give up hope she came across an interesting looking picture, not usually her type but this guy had a heart of gold, or so it seemed. He loved the kissing and caressing the same as she did, was at one with the countryside and his idea of a first datewas a romanticcandlelit meal followed by a trip to the cinema's plus he was looking for true love. He described himself as a gentleman. and she found herself blushing at the compliments he made. She decided to message him back and almost immediately her inbox pinged with a reply asking her to meetup for a date. She had nothing to lose so took him up on his offer the following weekend.

When they met he looked nothing like his profile picture atall. Hewore jeans that looked as though they had been painted on and his stomach hung unflatteringly overthe top. Not wanting to be rude shedecided to continue with the date, after all she had not been out in a long time and this man was prepared to wine and dine her. They walked down the high street, passing the awkward silence with idle talk of work and the weather, then they came to the most beautiful, expensive restaurant in town, but to her dismay he led her straight past and stopped outside a 2 for 1 burger bar. They ate in silence and Claire could not bring herself to even take a bite from the cheese burger in front of her that had bits of chewed remains that her date had unknowingly let escape from his mouth. The sooner this date was over the better. After a painful hour of sitting in his company it was time to pay. Claire's date rumbled around in his back pocket for his wallet, only to find it was not there. Whether on purpose or not Claire was not impressed. She promptly paid for the bill and stormed out leaving her date behind. She hailed a taxi and when arriving home she went straight to her laptop and signed in. She changed her profile to "looking for a brief encounter, honesty is most definitely the best policy". She thought to herself she would definitely prefer a night of steamy sex and gentle caressing than being saddled with a guy who couldn't even make an effort on a first date. Mr Right would come along eventually and she was sure that true love would strike when it was good and ready, but until then she was going to have fun with the one night hotties. After all you only live once.
